REVIVE plans to use 2008 to expand its Community Furniture Project.

By doubling the size of our existing warehouse and also by recruiting a new member of staff in our office; we plan to develop Revive further during 2008 using these resources as follows:

  • Increase furniture beneficiaries – by 17% from 43 people per month to 50 people per month.
  • Increase home collections – by 17% from 59 collections per month to 69 collections per month.
  • To fund and purchase a new telephone system, as calls are being lost on our existing system.
  • To continue to recruit more funders over the longer term (i.e. 3 year funders).
  • To further develop and improve our stock control systems.

Our results this year, to date, up to June 2008 are as follows:

  • 1299 items of furniture have been reused and provided to people in need instead of going to landfill sites (952 for the same period in 2007). 36% increase on 2007.
  • 324 individuals and families in need have been helped with low cost furniture (241 for the same period in 2007). 34% increase on 2007. This includes people who are:
    • Homeless ? Fleeing Domestic Violence ? Leaving Care ? Registered Disabled
  • 3 young people, on work experience placements, have received extensive on job training in the areas of warehouse management, distribution and customer service skills.
  • 3 people have found employment who were previously volunteering or on supported work experience placements at Revive (1 for the same period in 2007).
  • 149 agencies registered so that their clients could use Revive’s services.
  • 1460 items of furniture have been collected free of charge from local residents (1039 for the same period in 2007). 41% increase on 2007.
  • Our total amount of money raised from furniture sales was £16,955 (£10,646 for the same period in 2007). 59% increase on 2007. This all continues to help with our long-term sustainability.
  • Social Enterprise Northumberland has provided the funding for a new telephone system
